If You're Curious... "About Me" (Continued)
My career journey to Instructional Designer:
Dietetics and Nutrition Degree to Educator intertwined with entrepreneurship within my virtual Health Coaching Practice to Instructional Designer… how did all those journeys transpire?
The short and sweet answer: an extensive journey of career exploration and reflecting on what I'm most passionate about.
As much as I enjoyed the variety of career opportunities I encountered, I realized something was missing. I desired a role where I could still make an impact, but also preserve my energy and allow my creative side to shine even brighter. After consulting with a Career Transition Specialist, analyzing inventories, and reflecting on the duties I enjoyed in previous roles, I discovered the expansive career of Instructional Design.
Where I'm headed: After researching, listening, watching, and learning what this exciting career entailed, I was confident that pursuing a career in the Corporate Instructional Design sector was the missing puzzle piece.
My tenacity: Throughout my career experiences, especially most recently while guiding, coaching, and mentoring clients and business partners in my virtual Health & Wellness Coaching Practice, my purpose is to create impact and guide others to become the next best version of themselves. I exude this purpose into learning design by creating meaningful content and learning experiences that allow learners and organizations to thrive.
What I offer: My passion as a learning designer lies in understanding the mind, motivation, and human behavior. My background in Dietetics, Nutrition, and mindset coaching, synchronized with my creative and intuitive characteristics, allows me to notice various perspectives when designing meaningful content and learning experiences that involve a relevant, detailed, and realistic approach for the learner.
My Personal Life: When I’m not passionately creating memorable learning experiences for adult learners and maximizing efficiency and business goals in organizations, you can probably find me enjoying quality time with my teenager and sweet pup, laughing and playing pickleball, experimenting in the kitchen with my next healthy recipe creation, exercising in nature or at the gym, researching my next vacation idea, listening to a podcast, reading a book, basking in the sunshine, or enjoying a magnificent sunset!
I'm naturally a curious person and love to ask questions to learn more, especially when it comes to technology... if you could go back to your past self, circa 1999, would you have believed that you would be able to take a selfie with a phone?! I'm always open to learning new skills! Taking a selfie with a payphone didn't work the way my cell phone does. It made for some great entertainment for passersby!
Other fun facts about me: I'm a born and raised Floridian, we fostered several sets of puppies until we foster-failed and adopted our current pup, I backpacked in Europe, visiting 11 countries and 21 cities in 9 weeks, rollercoasters thrill me, and creating memorable experiences and adventures with my family fuels my soul.
Thank you for stopping by!
